As part of the introduction of “Kyash Coin,” we handled the UI/UX design for the entire rewards function as well as creating PR visuals. Kyash Coin is a currency that can be used within the Kyash app. Previously, users received up to 1% of their spending back as points, but now Kyash Coin has been added as an additional reward. Users can enter lotteries within the rewards tab to win popular prizes.
Kyash Coin integrates with services from other companies, meaning the rewards tab contains external content. To maintain the Kyash brand while introducing new features, we balanced the use of newly defined sub-colors in the background and accents, ensuring consistent design. We also added a roulette feature that users can spin daily and a stamp function to reward participation in challenges. To help users embrace the new Kyash Coin concept, we incorporated animations to create a sense of excitement.
For the addition of the “Bank Transfer Function,” we designed the entire UI and created promotional visuals. This feature allows users to transfer funds from their Kyash balance to other people’s bank accounts. With this, users can pay for things like parking fees or class fees anytime, anywhere, 24/7, all from their smartphones.
Bank transfers are a critical action that users must complete with care, as it involves sending specific amounts of money to others. We tested several input flow designs to ensure users could proceed with minimal stress and no mistakes. There were debates between the Product Manager (PdM) and the design team about the design approach. The PdM preferred using existing design components to minimize development time, while the design team believed that existing components might not provide the optimal user experience for bank transfers. We developed designs incorporating both perspectives and demonstrated the advantages of the new components. Ultimately, we reached a consensus, aided by the engineers who welcomed the idea of implementing new components to improve the user experience.
For the “Usage Display Widget,” we designed the entire UI and created promotional visuals. This widget allows users to check their spending without having to open the app. Depending on the display size, it also shows a graph of the average spending over the past five months.
The challenge in designing the widget was determining which spending information to display in the small widget space. In our initial brainstorming, we created several designs showing different aspects of spending, such as spending by category or comparing the current day’s spending to the same day last month. We wanted to ensure no relevant information was overlooked. After refining the designs and discussing with engineers about feasibility, we finalized the direction for the widget.
The widget aims to provide a quick overview of whether the user’s current spending is healthy. While increased spending benefits the business, our priority is ensuring long-term, healthy usage. We hope the widget encourages users to maintain their financial health while continuing to use Kyash over time.
